Ebby Halliday Realtors was founded by American realtor and business women, Ebby Halliday in 1945 in North Dallas. Over the past 60 years the company has had steady growth. Today the company consists of five brands, 30 offices and 1,600 staff and sales associates.

Ebby Halliday began her career selling women's hats and soon had her own boutique in Dallas, Ebby's Hats. In 1945, a husband of one of her customers came into her shop and complained about being unable to sell concrete homes he built because they were too ugly. He asked her to try since she was able to sell ugly hats to his wife. She agreed and sold every home within a year after adding carpet, curtains and cottage furniture. This marked the beginning of her real estate career.

Ebby Halliday has been recognized with countless awards, including being the first woman honored as the Texas Realtor of the Year by the Texas Association of Realtors. While she has dedicated much of her time to her company's growth and success she continues to stay involved with many community service events in her hometown, which she has been well-recognized for in addition to her business awards.

Current president and CEO of Ebby Halliday Realtors is Mary Frances Burleson, who first joined Ebby Halliday in 1958. Inman News recently named Mary Frances as one of the most influential leaders across the nation that influences the real estate industry today in their Inman 100: Most Influential Leaders.

Each year, Ebby Halliday Realtors takes part in approximately 16,000 Dallas real estate transactions that exceeds a sales volume of $3.5 billion. According to REAL Trends, Inc., Ebby Halliday Realtors is ranked No. 8 in the nation, No. 1 in Texas and No. 1 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.

The Ebby Halliday Companies, which includes Ebby Halliday Realtors, has ventured into other areas of real estate. It provides in-house apartment and residential locators and a counseling center for transferees and corporations with special and individual needs. Other companies under The Ebby Halliday Companies include Home Team Mortgage Company, Home Team Insurance and Dave Perry-Miller & Associates, which represents homes in the most well established neighborhoods in Dallas and surrounding areas.

Like other real estate companies, Ebby Halliday Realtors have created a blog for home buyers and sellers to stay up-to-date on the latest news and trends within the real estate industry, as well as a tool to promote current homes for sale.
